The best STEM, robotics and AI programme for a school child in Ludhiana is one that runs every week, is taught by a trained mentor, has children build real projects and shows parents clear progress. At The Shri Ram Universal School, Sarabha Nagar, the STEM Lab, powered by Myra Academy, is a regular timetabled period from Grade 2, is included in the school fees with no extra charge, and has a full-time trainer on campus, so most families do not need a separate robotics centre.
Which robotics or AI class is worth it, what does it cost, and how do you compare two programmes when both brochures look the same? Here is a checklist for any STEM programme, in school or outside it, and how our own STEM Lab measures up.
Take this list with you to any robotics centre, coding class or school lab.
A once-a-term workshop is fun, but skills come from steady practice. Ask whether sessions happen every week, and how many projects a child finishes in a month.
Ask whether the trainer is full-time and on site, or visits occasionally. A child who gets stuck on a circuit on Tuesday needs someone to ask on Tuesday.
Some programmes teach one kit for a year. Others cover robotics, coding, electronics, AI and more. Breadth helps children find out what they enjoy before they ever think about careers.
Copying a model from a manual is a start. Look for a programme where children also design their own ideas, test them, fail, fix them and present them.
Ask for an example of a progress report. Are there regular assessments? Can you see what your child has built? Is there a login your child can use at home?
Robotics and coding courses for children in Ludhiana are usually charged separately, and fees differ a lot by course length, batch size and whether kits are extra. Ask for the full cost for a year, including kits, competition entry and any certification. Then add the time and fuel for evening drop-offs.
The best programmes link projects to maths, science and computer science, so the lab helps schoolwork rather than competing with it for your child's energy.
Our STEM Lab is set up with Myra Academy and runs inside the school day.

The 17 domains include:
Each month starts with a mentor-led session in the first week, when the Myra Academy trainer introduces the topic. Children then revise at their own pace using their own login, build three projects on the topic and take an assessment in the fourth week. Every quarter, students present their own innovations at an Innovation Day, and twice a year the best projects go on show at an exhibition for parents and the school community. Mentors and school leadership review progress together each term.
The programme is aligned with NEP 2020, which asks schools to build scientific temper, computational thinking and learning by doing. Project portfolios and practical assessments sit alongside the CBSE curriculum, and projects naturally mix physics, maths, computer science and design.

Our students took part in HackAIthon, an AI hackathon. They cleared the first, online, preliminary stage and are now finalists in the in-person national finals, to be held in Chandigarh or Delhi, where they will build AI projects. We are proud of them for getting this far, and we will share how it goes.
Alongside the STEM Lab, our Digital Skill Lab, also powered by Myra Academy, covers digital design, video editing, web design, front-end coding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, UI/UX, AI and data analytics, and cybersecurity and online safety. It follows the same monthly rhythm, with a mentor-led start, three projects per topic, assessments and dashboards.
For most families, no. A good school lab with weekly periods, a full-time trainer and a clear project plan covers what most after-school centres offer, without the evening commute. Our AC buses run across Ludhiana city, and you can check your area on our schools near you page. If your child is deeply keen and wants more, that is a lovely problem to have, and the Innovation Days, exhibitions and competitions like HackAIthon give them room to go further.
Every child is different, so speak to admissions for details of the programme for your child's grade. You can also see the lab yourself: on Saturdays we run a free, hands-on STEM Lab session for families with children in Grade 1 and above. See the full details on our STEM Lab page.

Look for weekly sessions, a full-time trainer, a wide curriculum, real projects and regular progress reports. At The Shri Ram Universal School, Sarabha Nagar, the Myra Academy STEM Lab ticks each of these, with 17 domains, 400+ projects and monthly dashboards for parents.
Outside centres usually charge separately, and the cost depends on course length and whether kits are extra, so ask for a full yearly figure. At Shri Ram Sarabha Nagar, the STEM Lab is included in the school fees with no extra charge. Contact admissions for the fee structure.

Yes. Every student gets individual login credentials for the cloud learning platform, so they can revisit lessons at home at their own pace.
There are monthly assessments, and detailed dashboards for students, parents and the school are refreshed every month. You can also see your child's work at Innovation Days and the bi-annual exhibitions.
