To apply for admission in 2027-28 at The Shri Ram Universal School, Sarabha Nagar, fill in the parent information form, visit the campus, buy the admission docket for a one-time Rs 1,000 registration fee, have a short interaction with an educator, and submit the application form with your documents. Admissions are open from Pre-Nursery to Grade IX, subject to seats. LKG for 2027-28 is full, and there are a few seats left in most other grades.

This page walks you through every step in order, tells you what to bring, and explains what happens after you apply. Keep it handy while you plan your visit.

Which classes are open for 2027-28?

  • Pre-Nursery: new from 2027-28, for children of about 2 to 2.5 years. Seats are filling.
  • Nursery: for children of about 3. Seats are filling.
  • LKG: full for 2027-28.
  • UKG to Grade IX: a few seats left in most grades. Call to check your child's class.
  • Grade X: there is no direct admission into Grade X.

Age is counted as on 31 March of the year of admission: Pre-Nursery about 2 to 2.5 years, Nursery 3, LKG 4, UKG 5 and Grade I 6. If your child's birthday is close to the cut-off, call us and we will help you choose the right class.

Step by step: how to apply

Step 1: Fill in the parent information form

This is a short form with your details and your child's. You can fill it in at the school, or start by calling us or using the book a visit form online.

Step 2: Meet our team and tour the campus

You will meet our Parent Relationship team, who will answer your questions and show you around the 3-acre campus: classrooms, labs, the play areas, the pool and the Pre-Primary wing. Visits run Monday to Saturday. On Saturdays we also hold free sessions, a storytelling session for Early Years families and hands-on STEM and Digital Literacy sessions for Grade 1 onwards.

Step 3: Buy the admission docket and meet an educator

The admission docket, which is the application form, is available at reception for Rs 1,000. This is a one-time registration fee, separate from school fees and not adjusted against them, so please keep the receipt.

You and your child then meet one of our educators:

  • Pre-Nursery to UKG: an informal conversation, not a test. Nobody will ask a three-year-old to recite the alphabet.
  • Grade I: an interaction with the educator.
  • Grade II and above: a short worksheet that checks the minimum level for the class. It is not an entrance exam. It helps us see early where your child may need support.

Step 4: Submit the application form with documents

Bring these with the completed form:

  • Photocopy of the date of birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Births
  • Your child's Aadhaar card
  • Photo ID of both parents (Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID or driving licence)
  • Proof of residence
  • Six recent passport-size photographs of your child, and 2 of each parent
  • Immunisation record
  • For Grade I and above only: the transfer certificate signed by the head of the previous school, and the last report card

A Pre-Nursery, Nursery, LKG or UKG child does not need a transfer certificate. If you are unsure about any document, call us before you come.

Step 5: Confirmation and fees

Once admission is confirmed, you pay the fees and collect the offer letter and fee receipt from reception. Contact admissions for the fee structure. We go through the full break-up with you in person, including transport if you need it. Fees can be paid by NEFT or bank transfer, UPI, credit or debit card, cheque, or online through ShriConnect, our parent portal.

Applying from outside Ludhiana

If you are moving to Ludhiana from another city, you can submit the application form online. Children can also join mid-year, based on an assessment and seat availability.

What happens after your child joins

For our youngest children, the first weeks are gentle. New Pre-Primary children start with 1 to 1.5 hours a day and move to the full day once settled, usually within 15 to 20 days. After the first month, every new family meets our admissions team, the academic coordinator and the vice principal to talk about how things are going, and the principal is happy to meet you too.

From then on you will hear from us through ShriConnect, a WhatsApp group for your child's grade, the school diary and regular Parent-Teacher Meetings, with report cards twice a year. Children who join in our Early Years move from UKG to Grade I automatically, with no fresh admission.

A few things parents often ask about

  • Siblings: brothers and sisters of current students move to the top of their category on the waiting list. Seats and age criteria still apply.
  • Other boards: children from other schools and boards are welcome, within CBSE rules.
  • School timings: in summer, Pre-Primary runs 7:50 am to 12:40 pm and Grades I to X run 7:50 am to 2:30 pm. In winter, school runs from 8:50 am, and Grades I to X finish at 3:30 pm.
  • Transport: our AC buses with GPS, CCTV and a female attendant cover Ludhiana city. See our schools near you page for areas.
