Co-Curricular Activities at The Shri Ram Universal School, Sarabha Nagar

At The Shri Ram Universal School, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, co-curricular activities are part of the school week, not an extra. From Grade 1, every child joins clubs such as karate, football, skating, elocution and debating, art, dance, music, STEM, digital literacy and ICT, alongside a full CBSE timetable. Our aim is simple: a holistic education where children grow in body, mind and confidence together.

Why co-curriculars matter to us

Children learn a great deal when they are building something, performing for friends or playing as a team. A child who stands up to speak at elocution, or keeps trying on skates, is learning patience, courage and how to recover from a mistake. These are the 21st century skills parents ask us about: communication, collaboration, creative thinking and comfort with technology. We build them through real activity every week.

What children do at each stage

Early Years (Nursery to Prep)

Our youngest learners move, sing, paint and play every day in a nurturing setting. Learning here is play-based: art, music and movement, pretend play in our roleplay room, and hands-on work in our activity rooms, plus free play in our specially designed play area. Children join Nursery at about 3 years, and from 2027-28 we will also welcome Pre-Nursery children from about 2 to 2.5 years.

Primary Years (Grades 1 to 5)

From Grade 1, children choose from our clubs: karate, football, skating, elocution (including debating), art, dance, music, STEM, digital literacy and ICT. STEM and Digital Skill Labs begin in Grade 1, and German is introduced from Grade 2. Debating starts in Grade 2. Circle Time, Discovery Hour and the Reading Club add speaking, listening and curiosity to the week, and from Grade IV children go on outstation school trips.

Middle and Senior Years (Grades 6 to 10)

Older students take on more responsibility and more challenge. They continue with clubs and sport, represent the school at inter-house, intra-school and inter-school events, and from Grade 4 attend Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, where they research, debate and speak on world issues.

Spaces that make it possible

Our 3-acre campus in Sarabha Nagar includes an all-weather swimming pool, an AI and Robotics lab, a STEM Lab, a Digital Skill Lab and an in-house recording studio, so children can try things properly rather than just hear about them.

Showcases and celebrations

Children share their work at Form Mornings, Form Evenings and our Founders' Day programme, as well as in house and inter-school competitions. Every child gets a chance to be on stage, not only the most confident few.
